Service Supervisors Professional Development Course

A series of ten workshops, each for 2 and a quarter hours, over three terms designed for service supervisors wishing to enhance their supervisory skills.

In a confidential setting service supervisors will be able to discuss their relationship with their trainee and any difficulties that they may be experiencing. The individual supervisor will bring their experience of supervising into a group where the experience is further processed within a closed and trusted group of colleagues.

We are also introducing a new facilitated peer supervision group (advanced course), which is for experienced service supervisors and those who have been on the previous 10 week course.  This group would run for one hour on the same dates.

Who the course is for

This course is aimed at service supervisors who wish to enhance their supervisory skills in the ever complex NHS environment. We particularly recommend service supervisors who are supervising an IPCAPA trainee for the first time to attend the course.

It is an Association of Child Psychotherapists requirement for child psychotherapists who act as service supervisors to undertake training on the many aspects of this complex role.

Course Leaders

The courses will be lead by Mary Walker and Sara Rance, two senior, experienced child and adolescent psychotherapists.
